Ashes Of Creation Eyes 2024 For Alpha 2.0 Release, Teases New Event System

Intrepid Studios hasn’t pegged down a release date for Ashes of Creation’s Alpha 2.0 build but they’ve at least narrowed it down to roughly a year from now. Alpha 2.0 testing is expected to begin sometime in 2024 and will be followed by several smaller rounds of testing for backers.

The backer-exclusive tests will be covered by an NDA, although the public alpha won’t be, so you’ll be free to share your experience with the world if you decide to participate in the playtest. Intrepid Studios has yet to lock down actual dates for the alpha and spot tests but we can probably expect more information over the next few months.

On the subject of Alpha 2.0, the dev team gave fans their first look at Alpha 2.0’s new event system. The dynamic event system will be a big improvement over the existing one and will have the ability to detect if there are enough players around to participate in an event. It will also automatically adjust event difficulty based on the number of participating players and will consider various factors such as ongoing story arcs, resource node activity, and trade caravan activity before it triggers an event.

You can check out the new event system preview in Intrepid Studios’ latest developer stream below.
