Ashes Of Creation Previews Alpha 2’s New Freehold And Agricultural Systems
The Ashes of Creation dev team takes the community on a tour of the dynamic sandbox MMO’s new Freehold system in a new walkthrough video. The detailed demo highlights the various gameplay elements within a Freehold, offering a glimpse into the diverse activities that players will be able to engage in.
One of the first things emphasized in the video is the importance of selecting the right location for your Freehold. Proximity to valuable resources like halcyonite, a mid-tier gem used in crafting weapons and decorations, becomes a critical consideration when choosing the perfect spot.
The Freehold system will also feature an agricultural system that will allow players to farm crops, such as wheat, corn, and tomatoes, and raise livestock, including chickens, cows, and pigs. These will allow players to gather valuable byproducts like wool and milk.
Resource gathering and inventory management also play pivotal roles in the Freehold system. Players have access to various tools for gathering resources, but they must also carefully strategize their inventory use. The game employs a Tetris-like inventory system, which adds an extra layer of challenge and excitement to the resource management aspect. With limited space available for Freehold items, players must plan and make decisions on what to keep and what to store in their Freehold chests.
Crafting is also a key element of Ashes of Creation's Freehold system.
