Astellia Adds a New Payment Option as Alternative to Buying the Game.... a Subscription

Barunson E&A, Astellia's developer and publisher, announced a new payment option for those interested in trying the game, but don't want to purchase it for full price ($39.99). Anyone who wants to play Astellia can play it at launch on September 27th by paying $9.99/month. While $9.99/month is cheaper than buying the game upfront for $39.99, it is definitely a bit odd, as we haven't seen other buy to play games do this before. It does reduce the buy-in to try the game though which is a smart idea.

Players opting to pay $9.99 per month will undoubtedly pay more in the long run if they stick with it, but they can upgrade their s to a paid at any time. The only drawback to a monthly subscription is that they won't get any kind of head-start the way regular pre-orders do.

Official Press Release:

Irvine, CA - September 6, 2019 | Barunson E&A is excited to announce a new payment option for players who may be on the fence, or feel that committing to the full price of a game package is just too much but still want a chance to check out Astellia, their Classical MMORPG set to launch on September 27th, 2019. They have implemented a new payment option in the form of a game subscription, to lower the entry barrier to Astellia. For $9.99 per month, you will be granted access to a full game that can later be upgraded to a full permanent game package if players find they enjoy Astellia.
