UK’s CMA Asks Interested Parties To Weigh In On Microsoft-ABK Acquisition
The UK Competition and Markets Authority is giving Microsoft another chance to convince them to approve its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Readers will that the CMA had already blocked the merger back in April but reopened negotiations after Microsoft agreed to additional provisions.
More recently, the CMA asked interested parties to weigh in on the matter, asking for comments on whether there’s been a “material change of circumstances” since the regulatory body filed its initial report. They’ve also set themselves a deadline of August 29th to make a final decision on the merger.
“Submissions of this nature are possible but are very rare,” a CMA spokesperson told GamesIndustry.biz. “We will consider Microsoft’s submissions carefully, along with other responses from interested parties, ahead of the 29 August statutory deadline.”
