Daybreak Kicks Off Year Of The Darkpaw EverQuest And EverQuest 2 Anniversary Events
The EverQuest 2. As previously revealed, both games are celebrating their 25th and 20th anniversary, respectively, and the studio isn’t holding back.
The anniversary celebrations start off with EverQuest 2’s Masquerades of Divinity event that features 12 special monthly bosses that will appear across Norrath over the course of the year. Here’s how it works:
“A new herald will appear at the beginning and at the middle of each month, two different heralds will appear every month up until September, and other surprises to be revealed,” the developers explain. “Completing tasks/missions will progress the Avatar’s camp, which needs to be max level to call forth the Avatar. Challenging these avatars can garner unique and powerful weapons to be earned.”
Darkpaw is also giving away a collection of cash shop freebies every month, starting with Maxembert the Feisty pet for January. The freebie can now be claimed in the Marketplace until the end of the month.
Over on the original EverQuest game, celebrations are set to begin on January 17 with the opening of the anniversary tower.
“This tower features 11 floors to be unlocked over time via quests called the Tower Trials,” Darkpaw said. “Each Trial quest consists of a task that sends you off to various places across Norrath to find a key that unlocks a tower door! Once inside, prepare yourself for a unique encounter you must overcome to collect your currency! Inside the tower resides a vendor with items you can spend your Year of Darkpaw Timeless Tokens currency on.”
The studio will also be giving away an Orc Warrior metamorph wand as part of the EverQuest anniversary event. More information can be found on the EverQuest and EverQuest 2 official site.
