Dual Universe Delays Alpha To Stuff In More Gameplay

Dual Universe's February developer diary has plenty of interesting information to share, but also announced that Alpha testing has been delayed so that the team can stuff in more gameplay. For now, the tentative first test will take place in September. But the experience should be more fleshed out than it would be had Dual Universe stuck to its original Q2 2017 schedule.

There are a few neat additions to see in the DevDiary—that you can watch below. The video shows off a few more design elements for ships. they're just templates. Players will have complete control over their space-faring vehicle's design.

Probably the neatest info is that widgets displaying fuel and other ship elements are written in HTML and CSS, so you web developers can completely customize your widgets if you know what you're doing.

Dual Universe appears to be developing well. The game even took home two awards from GDC 2017: The GDC Best In Play Award and the GDC Best Picture Award. Congratulations. I wish the team luck, and can't wait to give Dual Universe's Alpha a spin when it's ready to go.
