Dual Universe Demonstrates Voxel Technology In Dev Diary Video

In the latest developer diary video for Dual Universe we get a glimpse at Novaquark's proprietary voxel tech. They're not just another Minecraft, but want to enable players to create unique shapes and enormous structures.

“Our vision for Dual Universe is to give a maximum amount of freedom for players to create anything they want in the game, using our new Voxel Technology and builder gameplay mechanics” said Jean-Christophe Baillie, founder and president of Novaquark. “The new video truly takes viewers on a journey into the world we are building with the game and provides a must-see snapshot of the making behind the universe they will soon be able to explore.”

Players will manipulate basic elements such as Cubes, Spheres, Cylinders, or Prisms, which are in-turn made of smaller structures. And it seems everything will be made of these voxels, including planets. Making changes at the lowest level of the universe will alter the way data is stored for larger elements such as planets.

The single shard universe game has already raised $388,159 of its $557,724 goal as of this writing through Kickstarter.

I'm excited for Dual Universe, hope to see it reach its goal, and wish the team the best of luck. It could be my sci-fi MMO go-to.
