Magic: Legends Outlines Changes And Improvements Coming In Mid-April Update
Magic: Legends Executive Producer Steve Ricossa talks about the various improvements that the developers have been continually working on since the game’s open beta launch last month. According to his latest State of the Game update, Ricossa says that they’ve improved performance in the region of Tazeem and will continue to work on improving overall performance over the next few weeks.
He also outlined the various changes coming in the mid-April update, which includes making it easier for new players to get through the tutorial quests.
“We’ve heard everyone’s desire to get into the ‘meat’ of Magic: Legends more quickly, and we have a multi-tiered approach,” said Ricossa. “In the very near term, we’ll be reducing the breadth of the overworld progression missions in Tazeem while also removing the requirement to fast travel back up to Briarthorne Glade to turn in your missions. These fixes will help newer players get into the game more quickly, filling loadouts with Equipment and Artifact drops, and building up spell libraries with the recently-doubled spell drop rate.”
The team will also be addressing issues with certain battle missions being unavailable or not completing. In addition to the huge chunk of battle XP that was given out as compensation last week, players can also look forward to double battle XP weekends from time to time. Meanwhile, the developers will be evaluating how long it takes to hit the max battle level to ensure that the experience is “as clear, fun, and rewarding as possible.”
The patch will also make building spell libraries more efficient by giving players the full 12-spell starter deck when they unlock a class through normal play or the cash shop. Missing spells will also be added retroactively to the library of players who’ve already unlocked classes before the update.
Players can also expect the mid-April update to come with a massive set of patch notes with over 450 bug fixes along with the initial batch of performance improvements.
