Osiris: New Dawn Comes Back To Life On Steam With A Big Game-Changing Update
Like the god that it was named after, Osiris: New Dawn is back from the dead with a brand-new update following its abrupt removal from Steam just a few months after its early access launch in January 2023.
After a year of radio silence, Fenix Fire has crawled out of the woodwork to roll out the Enhanced Expedition Update for the sci-fi survival game with no explanation or even an acknowledgement of the game’s sudden disappearance from Steam.
Buried in the Steam forums, however, is a missive from Fenix Fire last week that itted to communication challenges and an erratic schedule update. The studio had apparently spent the last few months “rewriting a substantial portion of the game” as part of an engine upgrade and fixing data stability issues, which still doesn’t explain why it was pulled from Steam but still remained available on the Epic Games Store and as a direct purchase from the official site. It also seems to suggest that the studio may have parted ways with the game’s publisher, which might explain the extended lack of communication.
As for the Enhanced Expedition Update, Fenix Fire touts it as a significant milestone in Osiris: New Dawn’s development and is chock-full of quality-of-life updates for every aspect of the game. That includes a revamp of the map system, the in-game field guide, multiplayer and enger ship travel, and the Queen boss, alongside a whole host of other gameplay tweaks and bug fixes.
Osiris: New Dawn is now available for purchase once again on Steam for those who want to check out the revamped version since the one on Epic Games appears to still be running an older build.
