Overwatch 2 Cheat Distributor Pulls ‘Assistance Software’ On Threat Of Legal Action
It’s no secret that cheat software is readily available on the market for virtually any existing game, more so for competitive shooters like Overwatch 2. Blizzard, however, appears to have succeeded in putting the screws to one major cheat software distributor called Rijin, forcing it to permanently pull its self-described Overwatch 2 “assistance software” from its shelves with the threat of legal action.
The news comes by way of a Discord screenshot posted on Reddit showing an announcement from Rijin that they’ve completely stopped ing the software. “We regret to inform you that our assistance software for ‘Overwatch’ will no longer be available […] as we dismantle the aforementioned services manually,” the software distributor announced.”
“Furthermore, additional services in relation to this software, such as purchasing or using it, won’t be able to be done. We know our customers may feel upset or angry about our decisions. But unfortunately, we have no control over the situation…”
Meanwhile, the fight against cheaters and hackers in all video game genres continues but we can definitely count this one as a win for game developers.
