Pantheon: Rise Of The Fallen Inches Towards 24/7 Pre-Alpha; Says Servers Are ‘Running Great’

It’s been a rather uneventful month for Visionary Realms and its high fantasy MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. No major updates were released this month as the team continued with its regularly scheduled weekly pre-alpha tests.

The good news is that no major problems came up either and the team is happy to report that the game is “running great.” They also caused a bit of a commotion among a group of low-level players when they spawned a high-level black dragon in their midst for fun.

Meanwhile, the team is working to finally move away from periodic testing to a persistent 24/7 pre-alpha test later this year. The ultimate goal is to speed up development by getting patches out more quickly to the pre-alpha version of the game.

“It is our intention to open our test server for a persistent, always-on, testing environment for our pre-alpha testers,” Visionary Realms said. “As part of this, we are introducing a playable game loop for our testers to enjoy while we build out the world of Terminus. How does this impact testing and development? The biggest change will be that we can implement features and test them faster.”

It’s worth noting that Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen has been in pre-alpha testing since December 2017 with still no launch date in sight. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end up like a certain other MMO that’s seemingly stuck in testing limbo.
