PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds Launches On Steam Early Access, Hits 20,000 Concurrent Players Within Hours

PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds launched on Steam Early Access just a few hours ago and it came out of the gates sprinting. According to SteamCharts, the game has a staggering 21,541 players on as of 40 minutes before this writing. Even though the game uses gameplay elements found in other battle royale games, even though it is launching at a price of $29.99, it is in the top 20 games on Steam within hours of launch and will likely only go up from here.

The version of PLAYERUNKNOWN's Battlegrounds that you see today was developed in less than a year. Early Access is expected to last less than six months.
