Population Zero Creative Producer Apologizes For Launch Day Issues And Founder Pack Confusion
Population Zero officially launched on Steam Early Access earlier this week, and, like most MMOs, early access or not, ran into multiple problems on launch day, not the least of which are server crashes and issues. Creative Producer Denis Pozdnyakov apologizes for the inconvenience in a letter to the community posted on Steam earlier today.
“No sugar-coating and straight to the point - please accept our sincere apologies for how the launch of Early Access has gone so far.
I would like to thank all the players that are staying with us in spite of all the difficulties of the first day. The fact that you continue playing the game is the best for us and our project. We will do everything possible to make Population Zero a more stable, interesting, and pleasant experience.
I would also like to apologize to the players who were not satisfied with the quality of the product they paid for.”
Pozdnyakov assured players that the problems with server stability and friend invites are being fixed and that refunds will be given to anyone who feels that the game failed their expectations. He also cleared up the confusion regarding the current Commander Founder Pack on Steam and the pre-order version on that was previously available on the official site.
“Firstly, it was a mistake to use the same names of the Founder Packs for the pieces of DLC and bundles on Steam,” he explains. “The latter did not have many items that Founder sets did. Secondly, we were wrong when we set the price for these packs as low as we did.” All DLCs have now been temporarily removed from Steam and the studio will be compensating players who pre-ordered the game with cosmetic in-game items or free Steam keys for their friends.
Players can also expect to see a May-June roap within the next few days followed by a development roap for the entire year says Pozdnyakov. Head over to Steam for the full letter.
