SMITE’s Year 11 Update Promises A New Goddess And A Sweeping Balance
Hi-Rez Studios isn’t done with SMITE just yet. The original game’s dev team is preparing a big update for its 11th open beta launch anniversary, aptly named the Year 11 update.
The highlight of the update is the debut of the mythology-inspired MOBA’s 130th playable deity – the Egyptian sky goddess Nut. She will be voiced by none other than the game’s iconic Lore Lady, a.k.a. the Narrator of the Gods. It’s actually quite fitting since Nut will be the last deity to be added to SMITE’s massive roster with SMITE 2 on the distant horizon.
The Year 11 update will also bring a brand-new conquest map featuring portals that will allow players to instantly teleport between side lanes, new celestial comets, and a buffed up Fire Giant with new abilities.
Players can also look forward to “big balance shake ups” that will include a sweeping overhaul of relics and shards, several new items, and updates to the item stacking and lifesteal systems. More information about the aforementioned changes is expected to drop this weekend.
In the meantime, you can watch sky goddess Nut in action in the new trailer below.
