Pumpkin Days Overview
Pumpkin Daysis a farming/dating sim RPG that focuses on relaxed gameplay that invites profession role-playing and casual player interaction as opposed to level grinding and monster killing. Its gameplay is a combination of the farming and marriage elements of Harvest Moon with the professions and customization of Animal Crossing, with extra care towards including all types of people in its character customization. Players can create non-binary playable characters and form relationships with any NPC regardless of their gender through interactive and rewarding quest lines. On top of the game's socially-oriented features, players can also gather materials and craft unique items, travel around the game world to collect resources, attain achievements, level professions, and play skill and luck-based minigames for rewards. Each player gets a own private house and farmland that can be upgraded and stocked with furniture crafted or purchased from NPCs and players.

Development History / Background:
Pumpkin Online is developed and published by Pumpkin Interactive, a small team of game developers interested in creating games that appeal to a broader audience than typical MMORPGs. The game was released on Kickstarter on August 14, 2014 where it reached its funding goal of $30,000 on September 15, 2014 with a total of $37,129 raised. The game was originally developed in HeroEngine and was switched to Unreal 4 Engine in October, 2015, when the developers decided that the game would focus more on smaller multiplayer and single-player servers instead of one huge multiplayer world. Its open beta was planned to release sometime in early 2017. The project pared back some of its ambitions and relaunched under the title Pumpkin Days on July 31, 2019.
