Activision Blizzard President & COO Daniel Alegre Is Stepping Down To Head Up Yuga Labs
Activision Blizzard President and COO Daniel Alegre is stepping down from his position after just two years with the company. According to a recent SEC filing, Alegre, who took up the COO mantle when he moved from Google in March 2020, will be ending his tenure with the controversial company on March 31, 2023 for another opportunity.
That “other opportunity” has been revealed is blockchain company Yuga Labs, which he’ll be leading as its new CEO. Yuga Labs is best known as the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs that took the crypto world by storm last year. Alegre will apparently also be using Mutant Ape Yacht Club #3850 as his new profile picture.
Meanwhile, Activision Blizzard stubbornly refuses to leave the spotlight after its top brass was first accused of sexual harassment and discrimination last year. The company has regularly graced the headlines of multiple press sites, including our own, over the past two years with its union busting attempts, and its high-profile acquisition by Microsoft which is still under intense scrutiny by multiple government agencies.
