Blade & Soul Implements Measures To Reduce Queue Times

Just two days after the Western release of NCSoft's highly-anticipated MMORPG, Blade & Soul's servers are just about ready to burst at the seams. “With such a successful reception of the Blade & Soul launch, our servers have begun overflowing with players who are excited to jump into The Earthen Realm. Our servers are reaching their maximum capacity and many players are waiting in queues at this time,” says NCSoft community representative Rukkiri.

NCSoft has taken measures to reduce the long queue times such as increasing the maximum capacity of their servers, restricting character creation, and offering a limited time item-transfer service, which ended earlier today, to give players the opportunity to move to less-populated servers without having to start entirely from scratch. The devs have also released a hotfix that added an auto-kick system to take care of idlers and also fixed the problem of queue times displaying incorrectly.

Rukkiri also stated that, “We’ve been working to open new servers as quickly as possible, and the servers are expected to be available in the next 48 hours. For those of you who have yet to start playing, or those of you who wouldn’t mind starting over, it can be expected that wait times on them may be a bit shorter.” He also asked for the players’ patience while on queue and told forum-goers that this was the result of an overwhelming positive demand for Blade & Soul and that they are doing their best to make the game experience as thrilling as possible.
