Bobby Kotick’s Future In Activision Blizzard Following Microsoft’s Acquisition Is Still Unclear
After repeated calls for his resignation as CEO of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick still remains in charge in the midst of the sexual harassment and discrimination scandal that rocked the company last year. With Microsoft poised to acquire ABK, it’s still unclear whether Kotick will get to keep his position should the merger be approved as revealed in an SEC filing last week.
“No discussions or negotiations regarding post-closing employment arrangements with Microsoft occurred between Microsoft and Mr Kotick prior to the approval and the execution of the merger agreement and the transactions contemplated thereby, or have occurred subsequent to such approval and execution, through the date hereof.”
What we do know is that whether he goes or he stays, he, and the company’s top executives are all but assured a golden parachute once the deal pushes through. As for the deal itself, that’s still up for deliberation as shareholders prepare to cast their votes on the matter later this month.
On Friday, Activision added a line to its main filing about the planned sale to Microsoft, stressing that Microsoft and Bobby Kotick haven't discussed nor negotiated his post-merger employment status.https://t.co/w9N3sXZM2g
