Crossout Set To Launch On May 30th, PlayStation 4 Founder's Packs Available Now
After nearly a year and a half of testing, Crossout is set to launch as a free-to-play game on May 30th. While testing has been conducted exclusively on PC up until now, the game will be launching on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Crossout blends elements from several different genres. It takes the vehicular combat of classic games like Vigilante 8 or Twisted Metal and mixes in a Mad Max-esque post-apocalyptic setting dominated by "road warriors" and vehicle building elements. Contrary to many other games that allow you to build your own vehicle, Crossout's vehicles are constructed using prefabs rather than blocks.
Targem Games CEO Stanislav Skorb had the following to say about the announcement.
Crossout blends high-octane MMO gameplay with the unique ability to customize vehicles. In the Closed Beta, our players have crafted vehicles we never imagined possible, terrifying in design and deadly in their execution. They have designed hundreds of thousands of never before seen machines, and more than 65,000 of them have issued blueprints for road warriors to emulate. We cannot wait to see what they craft when we launch the game on PC and consoles.
With launch fast approaching, two Founder's Packs are set to launch on the PlayStation Store later today, offering PlayStation 4 players two weeks of early access, exclusive weapons, and exclusive pre-built vehicles.
PC players who are interested in playing the game before it launches on May 30th can still purchase access for $29.99 via Steam Early Access. The PC version will see a progress wipe before launch, whereas the PlayStation 4 version will not.
