Diablo Immortal Launching on Mobile and PC on June 2

After a disappointing announcement at Blizzcon 2018 and little enthusiasm from traditional Diablo fans, Diablo Immortal is finally close to launching. Blizzard announced today that the game will be launching on both PC and Mobile on June 2, 2022. While Diablo Immortal is a mobile game and designed for mobile first, it will launch with a PC version.

Diablo Immortal | Release Date & PC Announce Trailer

Diablo Immortal was designed from the ground up as a mobile game and Blizzard debated internally for some time about whether to even make a PC version, but ultimately decided to do so.

Diablo Immortal on PC is an experiment from Blizzard. We didn’t originally plan to put this game on desktop—but as soon as it became a possibility, we knew we had to take the time to make it happen. If you’re a longtime Diablo player, the result will feel a little different from other PC Diablo games—but we’re extremely excited about clicking Immortal’s demons dead with our mouse, and we hope you will be too.”

Diablo Immortal is the first new entry into the Diablo franchise since Diablo 3's launch in 2012. While Blizzard got a lot of pushback from fans when it was originally announced in 2018, it's possible that the game may end up being fun. Who knows. Despite being skeptical, I'll definitely give it a try.
