Dual Universe Previews New Features Coming To Beta In Their Latest Dev Diary

Novaquark gives alpha players and fans something to look forward to in a new dev video diary that shows off some of the new features coming when the sandbox voxel game hits beta later this year. This includes an offline notification system that will give players a summary of important things that happened when they were logged off such as industry, market, PvP, s list, and community notifications. The talent and barter UIs will also be improved to give players more information at a glance.

Planets will also be getting a major overhaul using new tech that streamlines how planets are created manually and through procedural generation. This allows the developers to easily create and modify planets using layers starting from the tectonic plates all the way up to individual biomes. Speaking of biomes, the developers will also be adding new ones in the beta which includes swamps, lakes, volcanoes, ice caps, and temple ruins.

New ship construction elements will also be introduced including a hatch that will allow players to enter their ships vertically and can also be used for a quick escape. It also has the added benefit of not interfering with ading elements unlike sliding doors. A single-voxel fuel intake will also be added to allow ships to refuel with ease. Switches can also be hidden behind the fuel intake to make them more secure.
