Fate/Grand Order Is Coming To North America This Summer

Pokemon GO. The game has even seen a significant amount of popularity with those outside of Japan and even the game's primarily English-speaking subreddit has an active base that posts regularly.

But what exactly is Fate/Grand Order, you ask? It is a mobile RPG based on the Fate/Stay Night franchise, which was spawned from a 2004 visual novel by Type-Moon. In it, players play as a "master" that summons "servants," characters that are primarily anime renditions of historical figures and well-known fictional characters. Combat is much like many other mobile RPGs, featuring a group of three characters doing battle against another group of characters in turn-based combat.

Aniplex President Atsuhiro Iwakami had the following to say about the announcement.

Fate/Grand Order has done incredibly well in Japan. It brings me a great joy to know that the fans in North America will soon be able to enjoy the game as well. The epic story and exciting battle system come together as the 'greatest Holy Grail War in history.' I hope we can bring this excitement to as many people as possible.

Very little has been announced about the English version of Fate/Grand Order as of yet, but we do know that it will be launching this summer in "North American territories" and that it will feature the original Japanese voice acting. More information is set to be revealed sometime in the future via the official website.
