Microsoft Is Giving Away A Custom Final Fantasy XIV Xbox Series X ‘Art Piece’

Final Fantasy XIV is finally coming to Xbox next week and Microsoft is celebrating the occasion by giving away a custom FFXIV-themed Xbox Series X console to one lucky fan. The only drawback is that it doesn’t work and is merely an “art piece” that you can show off to your friends, as revealed in the sweepstake’s fine print.

It’s a shame that it won’t be functional because it’s a beautiful-looking piece of hardware, in a gaudy kind of way. It also comes with a similarly themed controller which, I presume, also doesn’t work. Microsoft, however, will also be giving away an actual working Xbox Series X as a consolation prize, in addition to a copy of the Final Fantasy XIV Complete Collector’s Edition for Xbox Series X|S and a 12-month Xbox Game Ultimate subscription.

Final Fantasy XIV will officially be launching on Xbox Series X|S on March 21 and will require both an active Xbox Game Ultimate subscription and a separate monthly sub.
