Heroes Of The Storm 2.0 Live; The Next Hero Is D.Va

Heroes of the Storm 2.0 is a huge update and it's finally live. 2.0 is a complete rework of the game's progression system with numerous additions: level caps are removed, 73 new skins are being added to the game, Hanamura s with Genji, there's a new currency system, and more. Blizzard took to Twitch today to hype up the update and reveal a few more details, including a cinematic for Hanamura, revealing the game's next hero.

The Hanamura cinematic (which you can watch below)—titled "Hanamura Showdown"—features Genji slicing away at Diablo until he becomes pinned. Just as it seems as if Genji is doomed, D.Va saves the day. We should've known. She will be a warrior on the frontlines but that's all the information we have for now.

What else is coming in 2.0? Nexus Challenge returns, helping players earn rewards by playing with friends, including an epic hoverbike mount and exclusive crossover items with Overwatch. You can scroll down below to watch the Nexus Challenge overview.

Anything else? Yup. Loot chests are being introduced with 2.0. You can get anything in the game: heroes, mounts, skins, etc. If you don't want to deal with making sacrifices to the RNG gods, when you open loot chests you have a chance to earn shards—duplicate items will also be turned into shards—and those shards can be crafted into any in-game item.

It's a lot to take in and the easiest way to check it all out is to hop into Heroes of the Storm. When you log-in today you''ll get to choose a pack of heroes to unlock, adding 20 heroes to your library for free. Choose wisely.

I just reinstalled Heroes of the Storm to give the new update a whirl. Will you be playing?
