Indie Studio Announces New 14th Century Free-To-Play Voxel Sandbox MMORPG Hegemony
A new free-to-play voxel sandbox MMO called Hegemony has just been announced by an indie development team. The game is basically a mod for Minecraft featuring classic MMORPG gameplay mechanics combined with Minecraft’s massive sandbox world.
According to the studio, the game started out as a build project for Minecraft which has evolved into a full-fledged MMO with more than 1000 hours of content, an expansive open-world map, a full-fledged item and crafting system, conquerable territories, engrossing storylines, and the most important feature – regular updates.
“1533 – Europa is in turmoil. New ideas are ushering in an era of innovation, of conflict…and of opportunity. Master trades, acquire wealth and rise to the rank of nobility. [. . .] We’re focused on creating a MMORPG experience that was present in classical-MMORPGs where game mechanics were richly intertwined with each other in a contiguous game world. Our goal is to create a truly inclusive, ive and friendly community that even after our players stop playing due to real life commitments, they can look back and see it as an experience they can be fond of.”
An unmodified Minecraft client is all that’s needed to play. No additional s required. Check out the game’s official announcement trailer below. You can also head over to the Hegemony official site to learn more.
