Star Vault CEO Shows Off Mortal Online 2’s Territory Control System And Siege Equipment

territory control system coming to the sandbox MMORPG. In his latest developer stream, Star Vault CEO and Lead Designer Henrik Nystrom dived into the nuances of territory control and siege warfare, showcasing the different types of siege equipment and territory control mechanics.

He offered viewers a look at the ballista and manganon and how they’re used during siege warfare. The ballista is a massive crossbow-like siege machine that can shoot large, specialized projectiles that deal a ton of damage. The manganon, on the other hand, is a type of catapult that can lob nearly anything at the enemy’s territory, including players. Nystrom said that they didn’t intend for the manganon to be able to throw players, but the physics system allowed it, so they ended up leaving it. You likely won’t survive the drop anyway.

He also explained the role of supply lines and supply towers as well as the different structure that players will be able to build to boost their territory’s defenses.

The CEO also held a lengthy Q&A session towards the end of the stream where he offered insight into various gameplay systems, future development plans, and a possible console release. He said that they’ve been talking about it but isn’t a priority at the moment as they’re still focused on fleshing out the territory control system and polishing the game.

Some of the above-mentioned features might be making its way to the public test server next week. We’ll keep an eye out for any announcements from the developers. In the meantime, you can check out Nystrom’s full developer stream below.
