New Atlas ‘Blackwood’ Standalone Map Will Be Rolling Out Later Today
Grapeshot Games has just published a new video that gives Atlas fans a glimpse of the new standalone Blackwood map for the pirate-themed MMO. The new map features tropical trees, waterfalls, boggy swamps, and a swamp village that would probably fit right into the next Pirates of the Carribean movie.
“Prepare for a dark twist on the Equatorial biome with ISO Blackwood. Dark jungles, caves, alcoves, villages, homes, and farms, an interesting array of animals and a new concept; The Mire. Wade through thick green waters teeming with dangerous creatures, rare plant life, and the occasional Gorgon to find buried treasure, lost corpses and even the giant and ancient snake boss Anacython.”
Blackwood was designed and created by map-modder Iso. The map features mechanics and challenges that significantly alter the way the game is played which is why it can only be used in standalone servers. The standalone map was initially scheduled to come out in early June but, as of this writing, hasn’t showed up in the servers for unknown reasons. Don’t worry though, a recent Twitter post has officially confirmed that the map will officially be rolling out on Friday, July 26th.
