New Eve Online Expansion Titled "Viridian" Launches in June, Free for All
Iceland-based C Games has announced EVE Online: Viridian, a major content expansion for its space MMO, EVE Online, in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Set to launch for free in June 2023, Viridian is the first of two expansions planned for this year, focusing on empowering players and enhancing the experience of player-run corporations.
Viridian aims to give corporation leaders more tools and methods to their groups, building on the previous Uprising expansion. The new update will offer a variety of personalization options, an expanded toolset, and improved training features, enabling leaders to create meaningful content and efficiently manage their corporations.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Capsuleer Day events will be held throughout May, with in-game activities like cosmic fireworks at Jita 4-4 and opportunities to be inscribed on the Worlds Within A World monument. The completed Fabric of New Eden mosaic, a digital artwork featuring over 80,000 EVE players, has also been revealed.
For the first time in a decade, active Omega holders can have their character names engraved on the Worlds Within A World monument in Reykjavík, Iceland on May 6, 2023, commemorating their participation in the game's history.
EVE Online players can the C TV stream on Twitch on May 6, from 17:00-19:00 UTC, which will feature developer interviews, prizes, and a live in-game fireworks display. More information about Viridian will be released later this month.
