Old School RuneScape Community-Made HD Mod Now Officially ed In-Client

While most fans of classic MMO’s don’t mind the old-school look, some have taken it upon themselves to unofficially spruce up their favorite game’s visuals with mods. A community of Old School RuneScape players in particular have developed their own client called HDOS which essentially upgrades the classic MMORPG’s visuals while still retaining its original charm.

The latest patch for the Old School RuneScape officially made the HD mod a permanent option via the game client for those who want to upgrade their visual experience without the need to use a third-party client.

“[We’re] happy to announce that the community-led HDOS client will [be] available to use directly from the launcher,” Jagex announced. “If you already have the HDOS client installed, it will show as an available option for you in the client selection drop-down.”

HDOS is also optimized to run smoothly on lower-end rigs so you don’t have to worry about sacrificing performance versus looks.
