Old School RuneScape Servers Broke From The Strain Of Trailblazer Reloaded’s Launch
Old School RuneScape opened the gates to its new Leagues IV: Trailblazer Reloaded game mode yesterday to extremely positive response to the community. How positive? Well, the servers promptly buckled under the strain as a massive army of players descended on the classic MMORPG to check out the new game mode.
“In this reimagining of our most popular League ever, you’ll return to the area-locking mayhem of Leagues II: Trailblazer. With a few tweaks to Relics and tasks, and access to all the content we’ve added since the original League, this is a truly unique experience.”
The Trailblazer League rerun mostly follows the same rules as the original league with a few significant changes, including the addition of two new zones, a reworked task list, and additional relic tiers to unlock. As such, Jagex warns players that old strategies won’t work in the current league. That’s assuming that you can actually get into the game to employ those strategies.
Launch day was a mess of problems and loading errors as a hordes of excited players tried to jump into the game at the same time. The good news is that the team is already on the case and has rolled out multiple hotfixes for various issues throughout the day. The bad news is that it’s going to take a while before they can smooth everything out.
“Things will continue to improve between now and then, so don’t give up trying,” Jagex tweeted. “Our current focus is making sure as many players can as possible. Once that is resolved, we’ll talk more around what happened and what we’re doing going forward.”
