Blizzard VP Confirms Overwatch 2 Will Not Have Another Beta Test
second beta test that ended last week will be the final playtest for the competitive first-person shooter’s sequel.
The decision to not have a third beta test goes against Blizzard’s usual testing cycle and has raised concerns surrounding the yet-unnamed hero which won’t get any public testing prior to its debut on launch day. Testers also point out existing issues in the last beta test that have yet to be addressed. Internal testing, however, will continue right up until the game’s official launch on October 4th.
Today marks just 2 months until Overwatch 2's launch! We know players are eager to dive in and have seen questions about the possibility of a third public Beta. While we will continue testing OW2 daily internally, we're not planning any additional public Beta tests. (1/2)

Overwatch 2’s development journey has been interesting, to say the least. The sequel was first announced at some point in 2023.
