Palworld Launches Into Early Access And Is Now The #2 Most Played Game On Steam

Palworld has officially launched into early access, combining creature-collecting and survival crafting mechanics into an adorable multiplayer game that aims to be “the best game ever” when its fully completed.

“Fight, farm, build and work alongside mysterious creatures called ‘Pals’ in this completely new multiplayer, open world survival and crafting game,” reads the game’s description. “In this game, you can peacefully live alongside mysterious creatures known as Pals or risk your life to drive off a ruthless poaching syndicate.”

The star of the Pokémon-inspired game, of course, are the titular Pals that roam the colorful game world. They come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities, and once tamed, can be used as mounts that will allow you to travel faster through land, sea, or air, or put to work on pretty much anything you need.

Depending on their skills, Pals can also help you in combat or build structures, plant seeds, water and harvest crops, mine ore, create fire, generate electricity, or work in your factory. Should it come down to it, they can also be eaten when food is hard to come by.

Palworld features a four-player co-op mode and dedicated servers that can up to a maximum of 32 players. PvP will also be introduced at some point in the future.

The game is currently on sale at 10% off on Steam until January 26 and is now the second most played game on the platform with an all-time peak concurrency of 779,877 players as of this writing.
