Daybreak Games Reportedly Sold PlanetSide 2 To Bay Tree Tower For $5.9 Million
Enad Global 7 published its Q4 2023 financial report yesterday which showed a 9% quarter-over-quarter increase in revenue but a 15% decline year-over-year. It also revealed that Daybreak Games had sold off a “noncore IP” for $5.9 million to give the company more wiggle room after a particularly weak third quarter.
The report didn’t specify which IP it was, but panicked rumors immediately began circulating that it was PlanetSide 2. It looks as if they’ve hit the nail right on the head as resourceful and eagle-eyed of the Reddit community spotted a filing in the US Copyright Office database showing the transfer of the entire PlanetSide IP to Bay Tree Tower, who we ittedly don’t have any information on. A Google search, however, showed an entry for a UK-based private equity which may or may not be PlanetSide’s new owner.
Neither Daybreak Games nor Rogue Planet Games (the sub-studio handling PlanetSide 2) have commented on the matter.
