Riders Of Icarus Switches To Nexon Cards Payment Method After Its Crypto Token Value Crashes
When Valofe introduced Riders of Icarus a few months ago, the studio also changed the way that players were able to purchase currency called GCoin. Instead of using real-world money, players needed to use cryptocurrency tokens called Karma Koin to buy GCoins that they can then use for in-game microtransactions.
That’s now changed as the studio switches over to the way back in 2019, which could mean that Valofe has struck a new publishing deal with the South Korean publisher. Or, Valofe could have just piggy-backed on Nexon’s platform in exchange for a small cut.
As for the reason behind the switch, it’s more than likely due to the recent fall in cryptocurrency prices which saw the value of Riders of Icarus’ Rania Token (RIA) plummet by as much as 97% by the end of July, just a month after the MMORPG went play-to-earn.
Good Day Rider's!
Please be advised That Karma Koin payment method has now been rebranded to NEXON GAME CARD.
Moving ahead, please make sure to check for the NEXON GAME CARD option instead, if you are previously using "Karma Koin" for your Gcoin purchases.
