RIFT Kicks Off Extended Server Load Test And Brings Back Its Mechs On Parade Event
RIFT to kick the tires of its new data centers and its recently merged servers. The studio has reportedly switched its cloud hosting service provider from Google Compute Engine to OVHcloud to cut back on the free-to-play MMORPG’s operating costs while still assuring “a seamless experience in Telara, free from lag or disconnections.”
The server load test will run until March 29 and Gamigo is encouraging NA and EU players to help put the new data centers to the test. Those who participate in the playtest will receive a free 7-day subscription once the test has concluded. If you’re down to earn a free sub, all you have to do is play in one of the SLT regions available through the Glyph launcher.
In other RIFT news, Gamigo has brought back the Mechs on Parade event for another round of mech-busting activities until March 25. Participating in the event will reward you with event currency that you can use to purchase mounts, pets, and other special rewards.
