Runes of Magic Merging Servers Next Week

Runes of Magic, the game best known for being a surprisingly good WoW clone, announced several server mergers earlier this week. After the server mergers are complete Runes of Magic will have the following 4 servers:

• INT1: Gaia
• EU4: Aynara
• EU5: Kos
• US1: Ayvenas

The servers are merging as follows:

• EU1 (EN) Vidar + EU11 (FR) Nuada + EU12 (ES) Ibergard + EU17 (PL) Nawia + EU23 (EN) Idun → INT1 (EN) Gaia
• EU10 (DE) Rath + EU4 (DE) Asteria → EU4 (DE) Aynara
• EU24 (DE) Zikiel + EU5 (DE) Garda + EU6 (DE) Baldr → EU5 (DE) Kos
• US1 Aeterna + US8 Phoenix → US1 (EN) Ayvenas

These mergers will happen automatically and require no input from players. Gamigo explained that slumping player population is the reason behind these moves. Fewer servers with more active communities will be healthier for the game in the long run.
