SMITE Introduces Erlang Shen, Mac Version Now Available

Hi-Rez announced today that it has launched SMITE's Mid-Season patch, bringing with it a new God—"Erlang Shen, the Illustrious Sage." According to the press release, " Erlang is a famous Chinese god who once did battle with fellow SMITE god Sun Wukong. Like Sun Wukong, Erlang Shen has the ability to transform into various animals and this is reflected in his abilities in game." Erlang is a melee-focused God that wields a spear. He makes use of various buffs in addition to the abilities to throw his spear and to transform into an animal and charge forward. You can see Erlang Shen in action in the video below.

A Mac client was launched alongside the Mid-Season patch. As of today, Mac s can the game exclusively through Steam. It runs on "MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro, and Mac mini computers that meet minimum system specifications."

Summer of Smite 2016 has also begun, bringing with it a beach theme. Players will get a free Enigma Treasure Chest with each purchase. New skins are being made available weekly, the first of which is "Rock-a-Bellona Bellona." The next skin, "Chef's Special Khepri," will be available on July 12th. Players can also unlock a bonus "Tropical Paradise Loading Frame" with more bonuses on the way.
