Star Trek Online: Players Will Soon Be Able To 3D Print Their Starship

Thanks to a partnership with 3D printing company Eucl3d, Star Trek Online players will be able to print any of their in-game starships for a fee. I only want the USS Defiant, and a life-size model of Commander Sisko to tuck me in at night.

Soon players will be able to print any of the starships they own in game with all of Star Trek Online’s customization options, from personalized ship names, colors, shield skins, to entire ship sections like saucers, engines or anything else that is available in our expansive ship editor.

It's a novel feature, and one of the few consumer uses for 3D printing as of this writing. If players choose to have their ship printed, they'll receive a 12" model to display next to their rig, or on their porches, or attach some twine to it and their ceiling fan so it flies in circles as if its lost in the Gamma quadrant—Neelix not included (thankfully).

No price has been announced just yet but should be revealed sometime soon.

Would you have your starship 3D printed, or maybe your super kawaii character from another MMORPG?
