Trove's Fees and Felines update. The voxel sandbox MMORPG’s auction hall has now been retooled with the introduction of additional fees aimed at curbing inflation and restoring balance to the in-game economy.

Sellers will now have to pay a listing fee based on the price they set for their items, and they'll also be charged a 10% tax on the final sale price. The team believes that this update will create a more robust trading system and help players afford items that were previously out of reach. It will also discourage player speculation in the form of flipping, but direct trading will remain unaffected.

While these changes will undoubtedly stabilize the economy, they may also stifle the early game market, as players will be less inclined to sell low-priced items to avoid losing money on fees. It's difficult to predict how these changes will affect the in-game economy in the long run outside of curbing inflation, but we'll find out soon enough.

Trove's latest update is not just about squeezing extra gold out of players - it also introduces the new Nekonomicon tome, which is where the Feline part of the update comes in. Once crafted and charged, the magical book will allow players to see and meet a purrfect new vendor named Fiona Catastra in the Adventure World Outposts.

Trove's update also includes seven new player-designed dungeons, twenty new player-made outfits, and a slew of new decorative items. Several daily quests have also been updated and various improvements made to the market UI.

To make up for past complaints about the “shocking lack of bombs” in the game, the team has also added new recipes for things that go boom which can be crafted in increments of up to 10,000 bombs a pop.

So, while you're busy paying your own taxes in the real world, don't forget to pay your virtual taxes in Trove. After all, a stable economy is essential for any successful society, virtual or otherwise.
