Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade Headed To Steam Early Access, Founders Program Ending
Following a successful Founders-only Closed Alpha period, Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade is headed to Steam Early Access later this Spring. An exact date has not yet been revealed, but it will be happening in the near future. The news was revealed in a newsletter sent out yesterday afternoon in which they thank their Founders for ing them and state "We wouldn't be here today if you hadn't been standing solidly behind us, not wavering, holding firm and dining in hell with us."
As part of the move to Early Access, the Founders program will be ending on January 25th. Purchasing a Founder's Pack—at a minimum of $40—between now and the 25th will net you instant access to the Closed Alpha. After the 25th, their "go-to-market and retail pricing will start." They will, however, "strive to offer similar early adopter and influencer programs for our other platforms."
While the game will be moving to Early Access, Eternal Crusade's MMO mechanics have not yet been implemented. At present, it is a Warhammer 40K-themed arena combat game with a small amount of PvE set to be released soon. The MMO portion will come later, once the game's core mechanics have been set in stone.
