Warzone 2.0 Now Allows Players To Recruit Enemies Into Their Squad Mid-Game

Since battle royale shooters first came out, squads have been traditionally limited to the players you jumped into the game with. While it’s entirely possible to create impromptu alliances in the game with the ritualistic crouching dance, developers have yet to implement a feature that will actually let players adopt enemies into their squad in the middle of the game until Warzone 2.0 came along.

Warzone 2.0’s Season 1 patch introduces the Assimilation feature for duo and squad-based matches which allows players to expand their squads up to six players or replace downed teammates by recruiting enemy players out in the field. Coupled with the game’s proximity voice chat feature, it adds a whole new dynamic to the typical battle royale formula as players try to talk their way into ing other squads, especially when their situation is looking particularly bleak.

“Break the squad limit boundaries by using Assimilation to grow your squad up to 6 players!” Activision announced. “Alliances are fragile in this game mode and you may find yourself out numbered at any point.”

In addition to the new Assimilation feature, the Season 1 patch also comes with a new battle , various weapon adjustments, and more. You can check out the full patch notes on the Warzone 2.0 official site.
