Warzone 2.0 Previews Season 2: Reloaded’s New Map, Game Modes, And Weapon

After a disappointing first season, Warzone 2.0 did a full 180 on some of its hotly-debated gameplay systems and reverted it back to the way they were in the original game when Season 2 kicked off in February. This week, Blizzard will be building on those changes with the release of the mid-season update, aptly-named Reloaded.

Season 2: Reloaded will see the addition of a new core multiplayer map called Himmelmatt Expo, a medium to large-sized 6v6 map located on the slopes of the Swiss Alps. The map features a large outdoor pool in the middle of the map, a restaurant and bar, and a two-story event center with a lounge and terrace in the upper floor and an enclosed theater below.

The mid-season update will also introduce three new multiplayer game modes – Drop Zone, All or Nothing, and One in the Chamber – along with new Path of the Ronin camo challenges, lethal Shuriken, and the new Tempus Torrent marksman rifle. The new rifle will make use of the M4 platform which means that most attachments that you’ve unlocked for the M4 will work with it.

“This hard-hitting DMR from the Tempus Armament offers the versatility of the M4 Platform and the velocity and impact of 7.62 rounds,” touts the devs. “A patient hand and keen eye will result in on-target shots and quick kills. With a base capacity of 20 rounds, you can afford to utilize its fast fire rate in the heat of battle. Its recoil, though predictable, requires a steady hand, with a quick but noticeable kick up and to the left.”

The infamous Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will also be coming to the multiplayer shooter as its newest operator. He’ll be making his debut alongside TMNT-themed weapon blueprints, including his iconic Steel Claws, a weapon vinyl, a light tank vehicle skin, and a Foot Clan weapon charm.

Modern Warfare 2 players will also get exclusive access to a new Raid Episode which will pick up where the events of Raid Episode 1: Atomgrad left off.

Season 2: Reloaded is set to go live on March 15th. In the meantime, you can check out a preview of the update’s contents on the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 official site and take a tour through the new Himmelmatt Expo map in the video below.
