Infinity Ward Is Doing A Full 180 On Some Of Warzone 2.0’s Key Features

Infinity Ward is reverting several Warzone 2.0 features and mechanics back to the way it was in the original game in hopes of winning players back to the battle royale. While the game isn’t exactly dying, there’s been a lot of grumbling about some of the changes made to the sequel particularly when it comes to the loot system, gulag, and in-game economy.

The first significant change rolled out last month with the return of loadout drops in buy stations, effectively reversing what might be the biggest meta-breaking change that Infinity Ward made to the sequel. The team is also planning to make loot pop out of downed enemies again, revert the gulag to a 1v1 fight instead of 2v2, increase the amount of cash scattered across the map, and reduce the price of consumables, all of which will go live in Season 2.

Infinity Ward is also apparently planning to roll out more changes and promises to reveal more information in a dev blog this week.

Meanwhile, Activision is also trying its best to please the community by uncharacteristically teacoming changes on Twitter before an official announcement, presumably to get a feel for the community’s reaction before finalizing anything.

Season 2 begins on February 15th.
