World Of Warcraft Classic Previews Its New Hardcore Realm’s Ruleset
Classic Hardcore server’s ruleset. As we previously noted, the server is inspired by a group of hardcore enthusiasts who voluntarily imposed permadeath rules on themselves for an added challenge.
The official Classic Hardcore server, however, features a few notable changes and additions to the community’s self-imposed rules. These include a 1v1 Duel to the Death feature, which is pretty self-explanatory and allows players to battle it out for “the highest possible stakes.” Players also won’t have to delete their character when they die. Instead, they’ll be permanently stuck in ghost mode but will have the option to transfer their character to a non-hardcore realm.
All Classic Era content will be unlocked from the start in the hardcore server, players won’t automatically be flagged for PvP, and PvP battlegrounds won’t be available. Some quests will also be tweaked to prevent PvP and will have escort protection from opposing factions. Additionally, Paladins won’t be able to use Bubble-Hearth while Warlocks and Shamans will have their death insurance abilities disabled.
Blizzard will also be implementing various measures to reduce and hopefully prevent griefing and power-leveling in dungeons. “Gameplay, zone disruption, and malicious player killing outside of consensual PvP will not be tolerated on Hardcore realms,” warns Blizzard.
You can learn more about the Hardcore Classic ruleset on the World of Warcraft Classic official site. Be warned though, it’s probably going to leave you with more questions than answers.
