WoW Classic Is Still Seeing Long Queues A Week After WotLK’s Pre-Patch Came Out

It’s been a week since the 15-hour wait time at launch but it’s still three hours too long.

As is the norm, players have taken to Reddit to express their frustrations and complaints along with the traditional memes. WoW Classic lead Brian Birmingham responded to a frustrated post on Twitter, saying that they’re aware of the issue but reducing queue times is proving to be a challenge for the developers.

“The short version is: these realms are already 5x the size of 2005 realms, and if everybody in queue went to a new realm, they'd fill that realm up too,” he tweeted. As is usually the case, Blizzard is probably holding off on adding new realms until absolutely necessary and would rather wait for the launch rush to die down on its own. Unfortunately, the expansion itself will be launching later this month which will likely result in another massive influx of players and even longer queue times.
