Worlds Adrift Early Access To Begin In Q1 2017, Alpha 5 Features Detailed

Bossa Studios' original plan was to launch Worlds Adrift "at the end of 2016." However, the company does not want to release a game that is not ready and Worlds Adrift needs just a bit more time in development before it is ready for launch. Thus, its release date has officially been pushed back to Q1 2017.

New features for Alpha 5, which is "imminent," were also announced. Players will finally be able to specialize their characters by finding "Saborian databanks" that are scattered around the game world and using the Knowledge found within them. "Lootable containers" can also be found in various places around the game world. The shipyard has been revamped, now allowing players to build their ship's frame from the ground up. Sails can now be crafted and attached directly to the deck of the ship. Ranged combat has been overhauled and pistols have been introduced as a replacement for the game's crossbows. And finally, whereas you could previously only play as a female character, you can now play as a male character.
