Albion Online Shakes Up Territory Raiding As Its Foundations Update Goes Live
Guilds all across new fortification system over the past few weeks along with the new mechanics and rewards that come with it.
The new feature adds several new layers of complexity to territory warfare by allowing guilds to put up walls and gates and deploy guards to defend their respective territories. The added defenses gives guilds more time to call for backup and rally their forces. It also gives smaller guilds a better chance of successfully fending off larger guilds and raiding parties.
New reward chests have also been added that fill up depending on the level of PvE activity in and around a territory, further encouraging both PvE and PvP encounters in guild-owned territories.
Prime Time raiding across all three of Albion Online’s regional servers has also been optimized for a more streamlined experience. Territory fortifications will now become vulnerable during six prescribed periods throughout the day. How resistant they’ll be to attacks depends on their upgrade level and whether a siege banner is being channeled in the area. Siege banners, however, can be deactivated by killing the bannerman and holding on to them until they despawn, much like traditional capture-the-flag mechanics.
The update also added new Hammer spells, a spectator mode, and three new Crystal Weapons: the Arctic Staff, Phantom Twinblade, and the Crystal Reaper, each with its own unique ability. You can check out the full patch notes on the Albion Online official site.
