Albion Online’s Into The Fray Update Is Now Live On The Test Server
Into the Fray update is now live on the test server with its new portal towns and visual upgrades to magic staffs.
Magic Staff s will benefit from various improvements to the Fire, Nature, Cursed, and Holy Staffs, including new animations, visual effects, and audio to add more variance and help players easily differentiate the spells being used during combat.
“Each Staff line has a distinct color associated with it for combat readability,” said the devs. “[…] For example, Cursed Staff spells use aggressive red and black colors with shadowy skull shapes, while Nature Staff spells use pleasing shapes and colors and calming sounds.”
As Sandbox Interactive previously noted, the update will also make travelling through the Outlands faster and safer, especially for new players, with the addition of Portal Towns. These new towns will replace the current Outlands portal zones and will offer a safe arrival point for players venturing into the PvP zone. A Journey Back ability for mounts will also be added to reduce travel times by allowing players to fast travel to the last City or Hideout they visited.
On the subject of PvP, Into the Fray will open the gates to the new Crystal Arena and a non-lethal version of Crystal League which will give new players non-costly options to ease into PvP. Castles and Castle Outposts will also be getting updates to their layouts, battle flow, and visuals, and daily dynamic events will be added to encourage more interaction with Corrupted Dungeons and Hellgates.
Sandbox Interactive will also be pushing out an extensive list of fixes and improvements with the update along with the addition of controller for mobile devices.
There’s currently no definite release date for the update but you can now take it for a spin on the test server. The latest test server patch notes offers a detailed rundown of the new features, tweaks, and improvements. You can also find instructions on how to to the test server here.
