Albion Online Is Also Transitioning To Seasonal Update Releases Starting Next Year

To prevent similar setbacks and crunch, Sandbox Interactive has decided to follow in the footsteps of several other development studios as they make the transition to seasonal update releases. From here on end, the studio will be rolling out relatively larger updates with more time between releases as opposed to smaller and more frequent patches.
The studio aims to release a major update every three months to coincide with Albion Online’s guild seasons with smaller updates in between to target specific areas of the game. They’ve also made a commitment to introduce major game changes only when they’re ready.
“Updates will therefore vary in size depending on how many features are completed in each cycle, and the next update will never be far off,” the studio explained. “This way we can focus on the key features of each, ensuring they are delivered to the highest possible standard.”
Consequently, the next game update will now be rolling out in January. The update promises new rewards and big changes to the territory system, including a new and improved system for earning season points, a new raiding mechanic, daily might bonuses, and hideout tweaks.
In the meantime, Robin Henkys offers more insight into what they have planned for Albion Online next year and beyond.
