Apex Legends Averaged 13 Million Weekly Active Players During Season 9 (Likely More than ALL Blizzard Games Combined)
Apex Legends, their hit battle royale game, averaged 13 million weekly active players during Season 9. The game also broke a new record for peak daily players, but a specific concurrent number wasn't disclosed.
Just to put that 13 million "weekly active players" number into context, ALL Blizzard games combined had "26m monthly active players". We're not exactly comparing apples to apples here as Apex reported weekly numbers while Blizzard reports monthly. A monthly Apex figure is by definition going to be higher. It's also worth mentioning that Blizzard is doing A LOT of double, triple, and even quad counting with their 26m figure, as they define an active player as anyone that logs into a Blizzard game in a 30 day window. If a player logs into Overwatch, that same is counted 3 times! Given this, I suspect that Apex Legends alone has more players than ALL Blizzard titles combined.
Apex Legends is on an absolute tear lately and justifiably so. It's currently my go-to Battle Royale game and if you haven't played it yet, it's well worth checking out. It's available on both PC and consoles.
